City Girl
It has been over a month now since my address change into the area surrounding the nation’s capital. I’m happy to report that I’m enjoying my time here, even if it is only transitional. I would dare use the word content to describe this place of my life during this time. (Wow- please know this is a big statement from “always looking for the next thing” me). As a result of this, I often find myself glowing with all the wonder of what it means to be an official city dweller now. These are some of the reasons:
You Know You Are A City Girl When . . .
1. You hoard your quarters for use at the parking meters.
2. You regularly carry around an extra pair of shoes in your purse- one for the walk to work and the other for work itself.

3. You spend more money on subway fare than on gas.
4. You take the long route on foot to the metro station in an attempt to fit exercise into your life.
5. You plan your life around traffic patterns on major roads.
6. All coffee in your life seems to come from one of the many Starbucks on every corner.
7. Eating out becoming a late night social event.
8. You know your wardrobe has to be taken up a level or two because everyone on the street is dressed like a runway model.
9. You see a homeless person as frequently as you see your friends and are forced to ponder what social responsibility means with their presence in your daily view.
